Wakodahatchee Wetlands

A free boardwalk loop through a reclaimed-water treatment wetland in Delray Beach, stocked with gators and one of the best bird rookeries in south Florida. Spring nesting season draws the biggest crowds of both birds and photographers, but gators are visible along the boardwalk edges year-round. The boardwalk keeps you above the water the whole way, so stay on it and keep hands and cameras inside the rail. No feeding of any wildlife on site.
