Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge

The Marsh Trail boardwalk and the canal along the refuge's cypress swamp boardwalk both turn up gators reliably, with the best numbers in the dry winter and early spring months. The cypress swamp boardwalk is a short, shaded loop good for a close look at basking gators below the rail. Canoe and kayak rentals are available if you want to get out on the water; keep well clear of any gator you pass. No feeding anywhere on refuge land.
