Pascagoula River Wildlife Management Area (Ward Bayou Unit)
This WMA protects one of the last major undammed river systems in the lower 48, and its bayous and sloughs hold gators visible from the trails and boat launches at Ward Bayou. Warmer months are most reliable for basking gators along the banks. Much of the area is best explored by boat; keep well clear of any gator in the water. It's a working WMA with hunting seasons, so check current dates before visiting.
