Cypress Gardens

A blackwater cypress swamp near Moncks Corner with boardwalks and flat-bottom boat rides built around close-up gator viewing, one of the most reliable spots in the Lowcountry. Spring is peak season for both blooming swamp flowers and active gators. Boat rides keep a set distance managed by the operator, which is the safest way to get close. On the boardwalk, stay on the planks and don't reach toward the water.
