Magnolia Plantation and Gardens
The plantation's swamp garden boardwalk and Audubon Swamp Garden walk gators up close in a blackwater cypress swamp setting, with more visible from the plantation's boat tours. Spring and summer are the most active season. Boardwalks keep you above the water, which is the point, so stay on them and skip the urge to lean over the rail for a shot. This is a paid, privately run attraction, so check current hours before visiting.
