Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary

A 2.25-mile boardwalk winds through old-growth bald cypress at this Audubon sanctuary near Naples, with gators visible in the sloughs and marsh most of the year, best in the dry winter and spring months when water pulls back into deeper pockets. Go slow and check the water on both sides of the boardwalk rather than just ahead. Stay on the boardwalk the entire loop; there is no ground-level trail here. No feeding, and no leaning cameras or hands over the rail.
