Shark Valley (Everglades National Park)
The 15-mile Shark Valley loop road is paved and flat, walkable, bikeable, or ridden by tram, with gators regularly sunning right on the pavement in the dry season from December to April. The observation tower at the halfway point gives an elevated view over the slough where more gators gather. Give any gator on the road a wide berth and let it move on its own schedule; they have the right of way. Feeding wildlife in the park is against the law.
