Savannah National Wildlife Refuge — Wildlife Drive

The 4-mile Laurel Hill Wildlife Drive loops through old rice field impoundments just outside Savannah, with gators a near-guaranteed sight basking along the dikes in warmer months. It's a slow, one-way auto loop, so you can view almost everything from the car window. Some visitors walk sections of the dike road; keep well back from the water if you do. Feeding wildlife on the refuge is against federal law.
