Greenfield Lake Park
A cypress-lined lake with a paved trail circling the water right in downtown Wilmington, with gators a well-known and regular sight from the trail and the lake's boardwalk sections. Warmer months bring the most basking activity along the banks. The trail is popular with walkers and runners, so keep dogs leashed and stay on the path rather than approaching the shoreline. No feeding of the resident gators, however tempting the close view.
